Murooshid, Director-General, Department of Health and Medical
Services, received the award on behalf of Shaikh Hamdan from Dr
John Mcentire, Director, New York State Dental Association
Council. Al Murooshid also received a trophy from Dr Horlid (New
York University), in appreciation of the scientific cooperation
between Dohms and New York University. The felicitation was part
of the ceremony held at Grand Hyatt to celebrate the 10th
anniversary of the UAE International Dental Conference and Arab
Dental Exhibition (AEEDC® 2006) that concluded yesterday.
The dental conference,
which was held from February 28 to March 2 at the Dubai
International Exhibition Centre witnessed the participation of
3,500 physicians from different countries. Dr Tarek Khori,
Director of the Dentistry Department at Rashid Hospital and the
head of the conference, said that several subjects related to
different aspects of dentistry were discussed on the last day of
the event. Among those who presented their papers were Dr Sanjeev
Bahandri and Dr Naser Malik, both root canal specialists
practising at the University of Manchester, USA, and Dubai Health
and Medical Services respectively
Abdul Salam Al Madani,
Executive Chairman of AEEDC®, Dubai, also received an award of
appreciation during the ceremony from Dr Mcentire on behalf of the
Governor of New York. The event was attended by members of the
International Dentistry Federation from 113
countries.
Al Murooshid praised
the achievements of AEEDC® since it was launched in 1996, with the
support of Shaikh Hamdan. Several other establishments,
authorities and individuals were also honoured during the
ceremony.
Dr John Mcentire
presented another trophy to Dr Tariq Khori, Chairman of AEEDC®
Dubai and Director of Dubai Dental Centre (Rashid Hospital). Dr Al
Madani also presented an award (medallion) to the Dohms, MoH and
Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
