The conference and
exhibition was inaugurated by Shaikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Industry, and
President of the Department of Health and Medical Services.
Shaikh Hamdan toured
the exhibition, showcasing the latest developments in dentistry,
and was accompanied by the President of FDI, Dr Michele Aerden,
and other prominent officials from the Ministry of Health and
Dohms.
The conference is
supported by Dohms and FDI World Dental Federation, Ministry of
Health, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dubai World Trade
Centre, Charite University of Berlin, International Dental
Manufacturers and Dental Horizons. About 3,500 doctors and more
than 500 international companies are taking part in the
event.
AEEDC® Dubai 2006 is an
important platform for leading manufacturers and newcomers to
expand their market in the Gulf and the Middle East region and to
create new connections with establishments from around the
world.
The conference is
being attended by well-known speakers from around the globe who
will offer up-to-date knowledge to all dental professionals in the
region and make use of the scientific resources that will benefit
the dental community.
The conference will
also present a comprehensive scientific programme on the latest
advances and researches in various specialities of dentistry,
including Aesthetics, Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery,
Oral Implantology, Oral Pathology, Oral Medicine, Orthodontics,
Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontology, Prosthodontics and
Restorative Dentistry.
AEEDC® Dubai Exhibition
showcases a complete range of the latest dental products and
technologies from all over the world.
The largest group of
participants came from the USA, followed by Italy, Germany,
Switzerland, France, Finland, Korea and
Japan.
This year, AEEDC® Dubai
has witnessed a 20 per cent boost in the number of exhibiting
companies, most of them exhibiting for the first time, and a 10
per cent increase in the number of professional trade visitors as
compared to the previous year, said the
exhibitors.
Qadhi Al Muroshid,
Director-General, Dohms, said that the exhibition obtained the
approval of the International Dentistry Federation as the fifth
largest conference and exhibition worldwide, while pointing to the
presence of more than 500 major companies from the field of
dentistry.
On
the occasion, Abdusalam Al Madany, Director of Index, said that
AEEDC® Dubai is continuously growing through the years, as the
first AEEDC® was held 10 years ago with the participation of 30
companies and 210 doctors only.
